FACEBOOK FAN PAGES CALL DORNER A 'HERO'

Alleged cop killer and former LAPD officer Christopher Dorner may be suspected in the shootings of five people, including three other police officers, but his support base is growing on Facebook. One Facebook page has 3,000 fans; its title: “I Support Christopher Jordan Dorner.” Another suggests that Dorner run for president: “We propose electing a man who could no longer sit idly by and watch as malicious tyrants abused the innocent.”

The worst, though, is a new page titled, “LAPD Cop Killer Christopher Dorner Is A Hero.” It has 193 likes, and features a picture of a dead police officer. The host comments: “I continue to learn from the posts that good people are sharing about systematic injustice. Thank you again to everyone who is taking this discussion seriously and posting resources for everyone to read.”

One Christopher Dorner fan page now has 556 members. Another has 313 likes. Still another has 1,266 likes. “We Are All Chris Dorner,” says yet another page, with the caption: “Christopher Jordan Dorner is the victim of a manhunt and smear campaign. 5 years ago he was fired from the LAPD for seeking to expose corruption within it …”

LEFT-WING LICKSPITTLES: HOW THE HUFFINGTON POST IS AIDING OBAMA'S BENGHAZI COVER-UP

Normally, we at Breitbart News ignore the Huffington Post. It is self-consciously leftist, so there is little point in highlighting its rather comical bias, except when that bias filters into the mainstream media. Sunday night was just such an occasion, when HuffoPo ran two stories in succession that neatly captured the lickspittle mentality of the mainstream media towards President Barack Obama, and the danger it holds for our democracy.

The first story was headlined, “Obsessed.” It described the promised by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) to block the confirmations of former Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-NE) and Deputy National Security Adviser John Brennan to the posts of Secretary of Defense and CIA Director, respectively, unless the Obama administration fully explained the president’s actions during the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi on Sep. 11.

Graham is no wide-eyed ideologue. Many conservatives consider him a squish on core issues. (I was once present to hear Graham address a gathering of high-dollar donors. He admonished them about the need to address climate change, even using the odd term “carbon pollution” to describe fossil fuel use. One irritated donor turned to me and whispered: “That sound you hear is checkbooks slamming shut across the nation.”)

Yet Graham takes foreign policy very seriously, as well as the fate of Americans serving abroad. He has, after all, been one of them. In pursuing answers on Benghazi, he is doing what the mainstream media ought to have done, and what the nation wants to be done. He is also answering Obama’s challenge in November: “If Sen. McCain and Sen. Graham and others want to go after somebody [on Libya], they should go after me.”

FACEBOOK TEMPORARILY SUSPENDS TEA PARTY MOM

In at least the second such encounter in recent weeks, the social media website Facebook has run into issues with conservatives posting information that has caused the site to block Tea Partiers from posting--at least temporarily.
Now, Facebook blocked two stay-at-home Tea Party moms from posting material that’s pro-conservative and critical of liberals including President Barack Obama, Breitbart News has learned. The two moms--Patty and Lisa (they requested Breitbart News not use their last names, as they have “received death threats on our page and would prefer to remain somewhat anonymous”)--have had some issues with regard to posting materials that have gotten caught up in Facebook’s web, starting as early as October 2012.

Then, Patty posted a Breitbart News article, and the photograph contained within the article, on their “100 Percent FED Up” page. The article and photograph were about Rapper Snoop Dogg, and how he tweeted out a picture of a handwritten note containing reasons why somebody should vote for President Barack Obama for re-election.

Merely posting that article from Breitbart News and the photograph with it--with no editorial commentary of her own--earned Patty a three-day block from posting any content on Facebook. Official warnings popped up on her screen advising her that she violated Facebook’s “Community Standards.”

A few months later, Patty posted a photograph of Adolf Hitler bearing the text: “Never forget what this tyrant said: 'To conquer a nation first disarm its citizens.' - Adolf Hitler." Hitler actually said that, but Patty was blocked then for seven days (she ended up getting it reduced to approximately five days by contacting support) from Facebook.

Then, Wednesday evening this week, Patty posted the home address and contact information of Gracia C. Martore, the president and CEO of Gannett. Gannett publishes theJournal News newspaper in New York that recently printed a list of firearms owners’ personal information. Facebook blocked Patty for 30 days, as of Wednesday night, for that post.

As of late Thursday, she remained blocked and could not post anything on Facebook except for private messages.

But Facebook spokesman Fred Wolens told Breitbart News what happened was a mistake on the social media company’s part, and the company plans to fix the issue as fast as they can. With regard to the first two instances--the Snoop Dogg story and the Hitler photo--Wolens told Breitbart News that his team couldn’t find specific records of those blocks. “While we couldn't find the photos from the first two examples, if they were posted as described, they would not violate our policies,” Wolens said.

With the Gannett CEO photo information, Wolens said Facebook found the example and has determined that block to be a mistake. “[That] block was a mistake on our part, and we will follow up with our User Operations team to make sure this does not happen again,” Wolens said. “Additionally, we will reach out to the Page admins to communicate this error.”

Wolens added that “these actions are not politically motivated in any way.”

CNN USES RESIGNATION NEWS TO TRASH POPE, CATHOLIC CHURCH

Today came the shocking news that 85-year-old Pope Benedict XVI has made the decision to resign at the end of the month, citing advanced age, fatigue, and exhaustion. While MSNBC kept its coverage respectful, CNN showed no such restraint, and immediately used the news as an excuse to launch into a frenzy of Catholic-bashing.

While Piers Morgan, with no evidence whatsoever, used Twitter to spread conspiracy theories...

...Soledad O'Brien did the same on the CNN network, immediately using the Pope's resignation as an excuse to delve into the Church's child abuse scandal.

You see, according to CNN, the Pope is retiring because dealing with the child abuse scandal exhausted him:

Much of the questioning about "the why" -- about why the Pope would be stepping down -- would be questions about the impact that the sex scandal, that has enveloped the Catholic church, would be having on the Pope.

O'Brien then spoke to her first outside "expert," left-wing filmmaker Alex Gibney, who directed the HBO film "Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God"-- a documentary about the child abuse scandal. O'Brien set Gibney's narrative immediately with this opening question:

"There also has to be some pressure and impact from what you really talked about; the sex scandal that has been a huge problem and enveloped much of the Catholic Church over the last decade."

Gibney fed the conspiracy theory by holding Pope Benedict XVI directly responsible for the scandal before going off on a wild tangent of outright Catholic-bashing:

"The other part that Benedict has played here is as a man going very hard over dissenters in the church. He's tried very hard to uphold charity of doctrine. So a lot of people have been drummed out of oppositions, only for questioning things like forced celibacy, or gay marriage, or the role of women."

Anyone who's watched Pope Benedict for any period of time knows that he's become shockingly frail, and at an alarming rate. That fact is something O'Brien never bothered to bring up. Her agenda, quite obviously, no matter how hard she has to stretch, is to tie The Narrative of the Pope's retirement to the child abuse scandal, because that's what she wants to talk about.

The White House has released a picture purporting to show President Obama "skeet shooting" at Camp David. An activity he claims he does "all the time."

The White House also warns all you mischievous internet types to not mess around with the picture:

"This official White House photograph is being made available only for publication by news organizations and/or for personal use printing by the subject(s) of the photograph. The photograph may not be manipulated in any way and may not be used in commercial or political materials, advertisements, emails, products, promotions that in any way suggests approval or endorsement of the President, the First Family, or the White House."

OCCUPY WALL ST: WHITE, WEALTHY, AND WELL-EDUCATED

A survey of Occupy Wall Street reveals the group was primarily made up of white, wealthy college graduates, many of whom had grad school degrees.

The survey was carried out by sociologists at the City University of New York. Their results are focused on what they call the "actively involved" or core members of the movement. What they learned about the demographics of this core group is summarized in this chart:

The blue bars represent residents of NY city in general. The tan bars include all members of OWS, both active and casual participants. Finally the orange bars are just the core members. So, for instance, the graph shows that 67 percent of NY residents are "people of color" and 33 percent are white. Among core OWS activists this is exactly reversed with 67 percent white and 33 percent people of color.

Looking at education, 34 percent of NY residents have a bachelor's degree or higher, but among core OWS activists the figure was 80 percent. Finally, just 24 percent of NY residents earn more than $100,000 a year, but 37 percent of OWS core activists earned above this level.

As for the political tilt of the movement, the survey finds exactly what anyone who watched the movement would expect. Among core activists, 57 percent identified with the Democratic party. Among those who voted, 86 percent had voted for Obama in 2008.

By contrast, just 0.8 percent expressed any affiliation with the Republican Party and only one percent of those who voted had cast their ballot for John McCain in 2008.

OWS was not a spontaneous, broad based movement with appeal to everyone in the country. It was a professionally organized yet unsustainable political tantrum carried out by white, well-off Democrats with high levels of education.

OBAMA CAMPAIGN ALERT ON GUNS HAS ZERO IMPACT

Last Friday, the Obama campaign fired up its vaunted voter machine and urged supporters to call Congress in support of gun control. The email alert to Obama's list of more than 20 million supporters was intended to flood Congress with calls in support of the President's gun control proposals. After a week, it is clear the effort fizzled.

The Obama campaign's action alert last week tickled lefty journalists like BuzzFeed's Ben Smith. The White House stenographer took to twitter to boast about the mobilization.

Yeah, not so much.

Breitbart News talked with a dozen Congressional offices, in both the Senate and the House. None reported any increase in calls as a result of Obama's action alert. One Senate office said that, in the week since the alert went out, they had received around 20 calls in support of gun control and around 150 in support of gun rights.

Without a doubt, Obama has built an impressive turnout machine for elections. His campaign has vowed to use this to mobilize on issues important to the White House. This initial failure, however, suggests it will be difficult to translate voter's personal support of the President to specific issues.

MEDIA FALSELY CLAIMS GUN ACTIVISTS HECKLED FATHER OF MURDERED NEWTOWN BOY

Tuesday morning, many in the media went all in with a sanctimonious attack against gun-rights supporters, whom they accused of heckling Neil Heslin, the parent of a six-year-old boy murdered in the Sandy Hook massacre. The only problem is that it was all a lie. Mr. Heslin was not heckled.

If you look at the full, unedited tape (which was first obtained by Twitchy), you'll see that after 15 minutes of the audience remaining respectfully silent as Mr. Heslin spoke out against assault weapons, he then turns to ask the audience a direct question:

I ask if there’s anybody in this room that can give me one reason or challenge this question … why anybody in this room needs to have one of these assault-style weapons or military weapons or high-capacity clips.

Mr. Heslin then pauses waiting for someone in the audience to answer. His question is respectfully asked but no one says a word.

Then Mr. Heslin says: "Not one person can answer that question."

And it's only then that a few people do answer the question, and do so respectfully.

The full, unedited video proves the media is lying. This is not heckling, this is someone respectfully asking a question and receiving a respectful answer.

And once again, NBC News has been caught red-handed maliciously editing video to further its left-wing agenda. This is how MSNBC crafted heckling where none occurred:

OBAMA'S GREATEST LEGACY MIGHT BE DESTROYING THE MEDIA

On Thursday, while looking wistfully back at Obama's first four years, NBC News accidentally did some actual reporting. In a First Read article that opened with the question, "Is the nation better off than it was four years ago," senior political director, Mark Murray, did something that neither he, nor NBC News, nor the mainstream media was willing to do during this last presidential campaign: report on Obama's record.

But there it finally was: The Truth -- and from NBC News, no less. Poverty's up (from 43.6 million to 46.2 million), middle class incomes are down ($50k compared to $52k), the deficit's exploded (from $10 trillion to $16 trillion), food stamp recipients have skyrocketed (33.5 million to 46.6 million), unemployment hasn't budged, and the same number of people are without health insurance today as there were in 2009.

Still, NBC News couldn’t even bring itself to report the most damning Obamanomics numbers: a population so despondent by a lack of jobs that enough people have dropped out to shrink the labor market to levels unseen since the 1980s. A chronic long-term unemployment problem unseen in this country since World War II. An unemployment rate disproportionately savaging blacks and Hispanics.

Where was all this news during the 2012 campaign when Obama was applying for a promotion and Romney was applying to replace him?

FLASHBACK: PALIN PREDICTS OBAMA ADMIN. USING HEALTH CARE

 TO CURB SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS

On August 1, 2009--just seven months into President Barack Obama’s first term--former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin predicted Obama would attempt to leverage health care to "take away" the Second Amendment rights of Americans.

In a speech to National Rifle Association members in Anchorage, Alaska, Palin said Americans should be “wary” of this “tie-in” because Obama would attempt to “take away our rights under the guise of some new health care plan”:

And by the way, [with] health care being so big in D.C. right now, be wary when some kind of tie-in occurs. Because it will crop up: a tie-in with guns in an attempt to take away our rights under the guise of some new health care plan. You know that this is coming--that the two issues will somehow crop up and they'll be tied together. So we have to be very wary of that.

On Wednesday--more than three years after Palin’s warning--Obama did exactly what the former governor forecasted.

THE WRECKING OF OBAMA REX: IT WILL TAKE TIME

....Specifically, if Obama is seeking an “imperial presidency,” as conservative radio talker Mark Levin correctly observes, there are ways to deal with such overreach within the political system--and there are ways not to. And Republicans have to learn the difference between effective opposition and simply throwing their political lives away on empty gestures.

Yes, Virgil understands how maddening it must be for the right when the President attacks Republicans for positions that he himself once held. During his Monday press conference, for example, Obama denounced Congressional Republicans for attempting to negotiate spending cuts in return for an increase in the debt ceiling. The debt ceiling, he intoned, must never be a political football. So never mind that as a Senator, back in 2006, Obama had played his own kind of political football with the debt ceiling. Indeed, the Washington Post’s fact-checker compared President Obama in 2013 to Senator Obama in 2006 and declared his reversal to be--shifting sports-metaphors here--“a major-league flip-flop.”

Speaking of liberals, we might note that Fox News talking head Kirsten Powers described Obama at his Monday press conference as “petulant,” adding that he was “acting annoyed that people were asking him questions.” Annoyed at us? Well, we’re annoyed at him, because he’s a flip-flopper.

Yet of course, liberal or MSM criticism of Obama’s annoying outrageousness is vanishingly scarce. As Fred Barnes wrote recently, “No president in my lifetime has been covered so favorably.” We might note that Barnes was born in 1943, so his lifetime includes such media favorites as FDR and JFK. Thus there’s every reason to think that Obama’s “four-year honeymoon,” as Barnes describes it, will prove to be an “eight-year honeymoon.” That’s not a good thing, but it’s a true thing--and so Republicans have to factor Obama’s fawning media coverage into their own strategic calculations.

Indeed, Obama skates over everything. As a January 13 Wall Street Journal editorial pointed out, he complains about rising health-care costs, all the while acting as if he has had nothing to do with health-care policy over the last four years. Is it an outrage that he ignores his own past claims that Obamacare would stop the rise in health-care costs? And that now we are left with a clunker of a health bill and rising costs? Of course it’s outrageous. But it’s an outrage that the MSM will ignore, and so the rest of us will have to work all the harder to make that point to the American people.

And now, of course, comes the big fight over guns--our guns. That’s the issue that provoked Levin’s “imperial presidency” comment, and again, Levin is spot-on. Not only is Obama pushing gun-grabbing legislation, but he also intends to push gun-grabbing executive orders--23 at last count, and who’s to say there won’t be more.

NRA MORE POPULAR THAN OBAMA; MEDIA IGNORE

According the latest Gallup survey, which was taken after the Sandy Hook murders and Wayne LaPierre's press conference, the NRA, despite being demonized 24/7 in the media, enjoys a favorability rating of 54%. Today, according to Gallup, Obama's approval rating sits at 53%.

Moreover, only 38% of those polls have an unfavorable opinion of the NRA. Obama's disapproval rating sits three points higher at 41%.

Part of the reason the White House, Democrats, and the corrupt media are losing their battle to marginalize and destroy the political power of the NRA, might have to do with the fact that a new CNN poll released today shows that an overwhelming majority of the America people agree with the NRA's proposal to put armed guards in schools, 54% to 45%.

2014: GUN CONTROL BIG LOSER FOR DEMOCRATS

Gun control is now a political campaign. This is bad for Democrats, and it could be really good for Republicans.

When the Democrats misread the tea leaves in December and began clamoring for bans on "assault weapons," 30 round magazines, semi-auto handguns that use a clip, gun shows, etc., they threatened something that is held sacrosanct by Americans in both parties--private gun ownership.

Because of this, the atmosphere surrounding the debate has shifted considerably. Thus, whereas less than a month ago Sens. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Mark Warner (D-VA) couldn't wait to grab guns with Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), now there is not-so-subtle silence coming from outlying Democrats. Gun control is coming less and less from the Senate and more and more from the President who doesn't have another election to lose.

As my colleague Michael Flynn has pointed out, in the middle of coming for our guns Democrats remembered something that's very important--control of the Senate is up for grabs again in 2014.

TEXAS TO JOIN WYOMING: FELONY CHARGES FOR ENFORCING NEW GUN CONTROL

Texas state representative Steve Toth is filing legislation for a "Firearms Protection Act" similar to that which we saw in Wyoming.

This law will make "any federal law banning semi-automatic handguns or limiting the size of gun magazines unenforceable within the state's boundaries."

Not only will this put Texas shoulder-to-shoulder with Wyoming in making it a felony for anyone--including federal agents--to try to enforce new gun control, but according to the Tenth Amendment Center it is in perfect harmony with the actions of Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott, "who has already filed over twenty-three lawsuits against the federal government."

More good news--representative Toth is newly elected, which means he isn't wasting any time. He is taking it to the gun-grabbers instead of sitting back to see what happens next.

Toth puts it this way: "We can no longer depend on the Federal Government and this Administration to uphold a Constitution they no longer believe in."

The message is simple: "Don't Mess With Texas," and particularly, with Texas' gun laws.

Ben Shapiro TORCHES Piers Morgan

This is absolutely a MUST WATCH. Ben Shapiro takes on a very smug Piers Morgan and decimates him. He starts out by pointing out how Morgan bullies his interviewers by standing on the graves of the little children that died in Newtown which quickly draws Morgan’s ire. But it’s absolutely true. Even last night with Larry Pratt Morgan accused him of having no empathy for the children. Of course Morgan’s response to Shapiro is “how dare you!”

Shapiro also tries to get Morgan to agree that banning pistols would be more effective than banning assault rifles since most murders are carried out by semi-automatic pistols. But for some reason Morgan says that’s where he draws the line because he respects the 2nd amendment. He just wants to ban guns like the AR-15 because that’s what is used in these massacres. But then Shapiro points out that the Sandy Hook shooter had 2 pistols on him…and well, it’s like trying to get milk out of a wall to try and get Morgan to understand anything logical.

But I tell you, the whole thing is quite masterful on Shapiro’s part and he continually hammers Morgan at every go even when it came to the conspiracy word ‘tyranny’. I’ll let you watch to see how Shapiro handles that.

It's finds like this that really expose the depths of the media's corruption and the Orwellian lengths these people will go to in order to ensure nothing is ever allowed to disrupt or in any way inconvenience the left-wing Narrative. If the media will go back in time to talk every other school shooting, why not 2010 to add some additional context with this story?

“He pulled out his gun and started pointing it at people,” Thacker said.

Cowan trained a .380-caliber semi-automatic pistol at Riden’s face, said Sullivan County Sheriff Wayne Anderson. Carolyn Gudger, the school resource officer, drew her gun, then shielded the principal’s body with her own.

Thacker remembers Cowan shouting something – possibly including the words “10 years” – but she isn’t sure. She turned and ran out the set of public doors to the mulch pile in the front of the school, and hid behind bushes.

“He might shoot someone,” Thacker remembered thinking. “I just wanted to get out of there.”

Riden fled and Gudger inched back into the school, leading Cowan through the scattered pastel chairs in the empty cafeteria. It was a tactical move, meant to lure the gunman into a more contained place, Anderson said.

OBAMACARE AMENDMENT FORBIDS GUN, AMMO REGISTRATION

Good news -- it has become known that hidden deep within the massive 2800-page bill called Obamacare there is a Senate Amendment protecting the right to keep and bear arms.

It seems that in their haste to cram socialized medicine down the throats of the American people, then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Barack Obama overlooked Senate amendment 3276, Sec. 2716, part c.

According to reports, that amendment says the government cannot use doctors to collect "any information relating to the lawful ownership or possession of a firearm or ammunition."

CNN is calling it "a gift to the nation's powerful gun lobby."

And according to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), that's exactly right. He says he added the provision in order to keep the NRA from getting involved in the legislative fight over Obamacare, which was so ubiquitous in 2010.

AMERICANS ARE VOTING WITH THEIR WALLETS ON GUNS

No matter where you look, the news is the same--guns are flying off the shelves, bulk ammo can't be found, and applications for concealed permits are going up, up, up.

In short, Americans have weighed in on the gun debate and the winners are the right to keep and bear arms and the duty of self-defense. 

Just look at Florida, the state in which the huge national push for concealed carry began in earnest in the late 1980s. In 2012, in the Sunshine State, the number of background checks for gun purchases was 797,970. Which is 200,000 higher than it was in 2011, and double what it was in 2004.

And the trend is actually toward a higher number in 2013. Florida set a state record in December 2012 with 131,103 background checks in that one month alone.

At guns shows from Virginia to California--yes, California--the story is the same as well: people are flooding into gun shows at a record pace. On January 5 alone, 6,000 people"filed through the Ontario Convention Center" in California by the afternoon. That figure is "more than double" the number that was expected to attend the entire two-day gun show.

And in other states across the union--states as divergent as Colorado, Oregon,Georgia, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina--concealed permit applications are skyrocketing. 

The bottom line: gun control politicians ensconced behind the wall of protection afforded them by armed guard upon armed guard are completely out of touch with the average American father who understands it's his duty to protect his family from danger; they can't relate to the single mom who sleeps with a .38 Special close at hand because she must protect her kids in the night; and they have nothing in common with the elderly couple whose home is no longer in the good part of town, and who fall asleep every night wondering if the gun shots they hear are getting closer.

But Americans understand. And right now, they're expressing their views on such things by buying guns and ammo, then meeting the legal requirements for concealed carry in their respective states.

If we are to be free, we must be armed.
