EVEN CODE PINK WANTS OBAMA IMPEACHED

Radical group previously gave strong support to president

In a radio interview, Code Pink co-founder Medea Benjamin called for the impeachment of President Obama over his policy of permitting drone strikes on American citizens overseas who are members of terrorist organizations.

On WABC Radio’s “Aaron Klein Investigative Radio” Sunday, Benjamin affirmed she believes the drone warfare is an impeachable offense.

She said she would go even further and “broaden” a ban on drone strikes to “end the killing of innocent people overseas in countries where we are not at war without any kind of transparency or accountability.”

Asked Klein: “So would you then call, as the co-founder of Code Pink, for the impeachment of President Obama based on these alleged crimes?”

“Sure,” Benjamin responded. “Just like I called for President Obama and George Bush to be taken to the International Criminal Court for war crimes, but it’s not going to happen.”

OBAMA'S COMMERCE PICK IS MAJOR MEDIA MATTERS FUNDER

Presidential campaign bundler chaired failed bank seized by feds
- Aaron Klein

President Obama is close to choosing Chicago businesswoman Penny Pritzker, the finance chair of his 2008 presidential campaign, as his next commerce secretary, according to multiple news media accounts.

WND first exposed that Pritzker is a primary funder of the radical Media Matters for America activist group.

Other questions may be raised about Pritzker’s financial history, primarily her family’s ownership of a bank that was seized and shut down by the feds in 2001 after it was accused of unsound financial activities and predatory lending practices.

Pritzker herself served as chairman of the failed bank, Superior Bank, from 1991-1994.

Last year, Media Matters found itself in hot water after the Daily Caller exposed the group’s purported illicit tactics, including compiling a de facto enemies list; announcing an all-out campaign of “guerrilla warfare and sabotage” aimed at the Fox News Channel; and reportedly seeking to investigate the personal lives of reporters and news personalities.

The information came amid reports White House staffers held regular meetings and even a weekly conference call with Media Matters

OREGON BAKER FACES STATE INVESTIGATION AFTER REFUSING TO MAKE SAME-SEX COUPLE’S WEDDING CAKE

Another violation of a business owner's rights grantedto every U.S. citizen by the U.S. Constitution. - Freedom First

An Oregon man may have broken the law and is facing a state investigation after refusing to bake a cake for a same-sex couple’s wedding, KATU reports.

KGW has details on the story:

It started on Jan. 17 when a mother and daughter showed up at Sweet Cakes by Melissa looking for the perfect wedding cake.
“My first question is what’s the wedding date,” said owner Aaron Klein. “My next question is bride and groom’s name … the girl giggled a little bit and said it’s two brides.”
Klein apologized to the women and told them he and his wife do not make cakes for same-sex marriages. Klein said the women were disgusted and walked out.
“I believe that marriage is a religious institution ordained by God,” said Klein. “A man should leave his mother and father and cling to his wife … that to me is the beginning of marriage.”
[...]
“I’d rather have my kids see their dad stand up for what he believes in then to see him bow down because one person complained.”

One of the women filed a complaint on January 28– also saying Klein referred to them as “abominations unto the Lord”– and now the Oregon Attorney General’s civil enforcement officers are investigating the claim.

But Klein says he never used harsh language and has no problem with homosexuals; he just doesn’t want to be a part of their marriage.

“I honestly did not mean to hurt anybody, didn’t mean to make anybody upset, [it’s] just something I believe in very strongly,” he told KATU.

When asked whether he’d be willing to lose his business over the matter, Klein said: “If I have to be to, I guess, be penalized for my beliefs, then I guess, well, that’ll be what it is.”

The case now presents a unique legal dilemma, according to reports, since Oregon law forbids discrimination based on sexual orientation, and the U.S. Constitution protects Klein’s freedom of religion.

AL JAZEERA A MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD FRONT?

Network gains U.S. foothold with purchase of Gore's Current TV
- Aaron Klein, WND

JERUSALEM – Al Jazeera, which this week announced it purchased Al Gore’s Current TV for $500 million, has a long history of close ties to and support for the Muslim Brotherhood.

Al Jazeera’s founders, themselves close to the Muslim Brotherhood, have long attempted to gain influence in the U.S., including through the financing of Arabic classes in American public schools via a Muslim Brotherhood-linked charity.

Al Jazeera this week announced a plan to establish a new U.S. cable news channel, tentatively call Al Jazeera America, utilizing the purchase of Current TV.

The Qatar-financed network is hoping to retain and even increase Current TV’s distribution rights in more than 40 million homes to broadcast its own new network.

Al Jazeera Director General Ahmed bin Jassim Al Thani announced, “By acquiring Current TV, Al Jazeera will significantly expand our existing distribution footprint in the U.S., as well as increase our newsgathering and reporting efforts in America.”

Thani explained the new network seeks to provide domestic and international news for an American audience. Al Jazeera reportedly plans to open new bureaus across the U.S. and increase the network’s staff domestically to over 300 employees.

Al Jazeera has a long history of close ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.

Yusuf al-Qaradawi, one of the top leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood, rose to fame in the Arab world after Al Jazeera gave him his a major platform. Many regard Qaradawi as the de facto spiritual leader of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood.

Qaradawi achieved star status because of his regular sermons and interviews on Al Jazeera.

The Arab news network strongly supported the revolution against former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and has taken a friendly tone toward the country’s new Muslim Brotherhood leadership.

Al Jazeera was founded with financing from the emir of Qatar, Sheik Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, who previously served as the network’s chairman.

The network is still financed largely from Qatar, where its headquarters are located.

The current chairman of Al Jazeera is Sheik Hamad bin Thamer Al Thani, the Qatari emir’s cousin.

WND previously reported an Arabic language program established in several U.S. schools is funded by a Qatar group that maintains close ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, while the group’s founder started the Al Jazeera television network.
